The Bibliophile is a family owned independent bookstore in downtown Dover, Ohio that exists to promote and expand the love of books and reading. Come browse our inventory of used and new titles from just about every genre. Grab a drink from the coffee shop next door and relax in the seating that is available around the shop. With fresh inventory coming in all the time, you’ll want to keep coming back!

Used Books

We primarily stock used books, with a mix of genres and an inventory of over 15,000 books.

New Books

We do offer some new titles. New titles are restocked regularly and in-print books not in-stock can be ordered and picked up at the store.

Buying Books

We are open to buying books from customers (for cash or store credit), which means we always have fresh inventory. Buying Policy is below.

Book Buying Policy

We do purchase books from customers for store credit or cash with the following guidelines:

1. Books must be in good condition.

2. You may choose store credit or cash for your books which will be calculated as:

a. Store Credit: earn 50% of the price for which we will be selling the book -- this store credit may be used for up to half of the total of any future purchase.

b. Cash: earn 25% of the price for which we will be selling the book. (Amounts greater than $20 may be paid by check).

3. We reserve the right to be choosy based on condition and current inventory levels.

4. Please contact us in advance if you are wanting to sell a large number of books so we can make arrangements.
